The Brand

TikTok is an immensely popular social media video app first launched in September 2017. The international brand has enjoyed rapid growth, with its meteoric success seeing them become the fastest growing and most-used social media platform.

The Challenge

Climb Online were enlisted during a crucial phase in TikTok’s expansion to assist them in accelerating their growth in European markets. They required a comprehensive European SEM strategy that would enable them to advance keyword rankings and generate high volumes of traffic to the TikTok website, and help them drive their momentum and success into the European market.

Our Strategy & Approach

With our expertise in technical optimisation, we worked closely with TikTok to create a highly tailored strategy, beginning with an in-depth analysis of audience segments based on demographic data, user behaviour and key interests. We used this, along with data gleaned from our current visibility analysis, to identify quick keyword gains and create content that was optimised for the moment, audience and placement. Sentiment analysis and tracking were key to identifying trends.

Additionally, we created a robust backlink building strategy to drive increased organic traffic to the TikTok website, while conducting regular full site and conversation rate audits.

The Results

Our bespoke SEM strategy delivered outstanding results, with TikTok recording a 10x increase in keywords ranked in the top 10 positions on Google in the UK, France and Germany since the campaign’s launch. Our focus on organic traffic also yielded fantastic results, with TikTok’s organic traffic for the UK doubling since the start of the campaign, a result that would have cost hundreds of thousands of pounds using paid media strategies.
